A great entry of cattle at this week's sale, the largest seen this autumn with 93 slae cattle and 28 OCDS forward. A larger percentage of plainer sorts pulled the average back though, to 79p.
In the prime cattle section, top spot went to regular vendors John & Alison Spensley, Thorlby with a British Blue cross bullock at £1000.13p, the same vendors also presenting a British Blue cross heifer at 163.5p/kg.

PRIME SHEEP
A lighter show of sheep after a terrible weekend of weather. Belly clipping is now definitely required for lambs that are either wet or dirty. The quality of today's show was not up to last week's standard, but trade was still stronger than the second half of last week.
Gordon Bank's Clipping Service now availbale - to pre-book phone Gordon on 07708273107.
Farm Assurance - Vendors please make sure farm assurance is up to date and that we have your correct details. Several customers requiring farm assured lambs.

PRIME SHEEP
A larger turnout of sheep this week were greated with a stong trade, 5p/Kg dearer on the week as the breed averages show. a greater proportion of sheep now with more flesh and in the right weight category for most buyers (39-44Kg). Also showing the trend for quality lambs selling well at Skipton was that 57 pens of lambs today sold for £55 each or more, to a top of £69.50. Cast sheep were also a firmer trade, and during the course of November Vendors are advised to market strong, well fleshed types.
